Junior Season commences Saturday 21 April 2007

The first junior teams entered by the club in local competitions were recruited from the Richmond School by Fred Bentley in 1918 (2 teams).
1967: First Rangers Junior Management Committee set up at the start of 1967. Chairman G. McPherson, Secretary Ron Welford, Treasurer Frank Webber, Committee Albert Sikma, H. Clegg, F. Tripp, G. Reid, Brian Ives, D. Presland, M. Pickworth, B. Dell. The committee started the season with a grant of $100 from the senior committee, and finished the season with $317 over expenses. Previously all junior football teams of the club were run by the senior committee. Delegates from Rangers to Canterbury JMC for many years were Irvin lee, Eddy Roberts, Eric Adam, Peter Whelen, Colin Cook, Gavin McPherson.
1970: First social visit to Petone AFC (Wellington)
1971: Rangers first invitation pre-season tournament for juniors at Cuthberts Green. 75 games in all. Western won with Christchurch City second and Rangers third. "The tournament went like clockwork through superb organisation, matches keeping to time and most adequate facilities for all. This was a first for Rangers and they have said they intend to run it again next year. Western received a handsome trophy." (CFA Programme 2 April 1971.)
1973: Girls team "Rebels" formed to play other clubs, coach Jean Maguire.
1980: Rangers win our Junior Tournament for the first time.
1981: Rangers win tournament again.
1984-88: Graham Griffiths brought a team through from 11A to 15 A winning the league and knock-out every year.
1988: U17 win league match v Burwood 28-0. Scorers included K. Hoani (13 goals) and Mike Harvey (7 goals).
1988: Rangers win Canterbury Junior Football Association Club of the Year.
